VNA’s New Community Oven
Residents were thrilled to get their hands busy with making delicious treats using the brand new oven!
“It’s so much fun to share recipes and to cook together! We come from all different backgrounds- Italian, Cuban, Spanish, Irish and it’s so interesting to learn new flavors!”
said longtime resident Carmelda Green whose family immigrated from Cuba.
According to Activities Director Gay Sheldon, ” Even though the residents all have their own ovens in their apartments, having a Community Oven was top on their Wish List!
Cooking and sharing and enjoying good food together is always special and brings back many happy memories….everyone has a story to tell!”
